WHAT IS WIRELESS COMMUNICATION



WIRELESS COMMUNICATION:


            " Its a type of communication where there is no use of wires, i e: it is done through electromagnetic waves ".

HISTORY:
   
      The italian scientist " guglielmo marconi" is know as the father of wireless communication , but in true sense marconi created operational transmitter as well as receiver . prior to him an Indian scientist sir"jagdish chandra bosh"worked of wireless communication but due to lack of support to science and technology in indian he is not able to patent it later it was patented by marconi .

WHY WIRELESS:

                             There are few points which support wireless communication,

1) The infrastructure required in wired communication is very high compared to wireless communication. 

"Infrastructure difference"

2) complexity of wired communication is very high and require high monitoring .

3) The errors in signal propagation in wireless communication will be less and they can be corrected easily as compared to wired communication.

4) The areas such as mountains and forests where wired communication is not possible there wireless communication is very helpful .

5) In present days portable communication is very necessary and wireless communication is like a boon to it.

HOW IT WORKS:

        Any wireless system basically consists of 3 components namely
Transmitter, Receiver and channel .
as shown in below figure.

SOURCE: 
                 "Its a component which      produce the useful signal that has to be transmitted over the channel"
It may be any thing like an microphone which will produce audio signal, a camera which create image / video etc .

TRANSMITTER: 
                         " The signal from source is not suitable for direct transmission to make it suitable and transmit an transmitter is used".
           The transmitter will produce an carrier signal and mix it with the signal from  source ie modulating signal with the help of modulator and transmit it over the wireless channel.

WIRELESS CHANNEL:
                                         " Its the wireless link which will connect transmitter to the receiver".
Along with useful signal an unwanted signal will also add up that is called as noise in wireless communication .
                               The channel is basically the environment i e, our air.
RECEIVER:
                    "Its an element which will receive the signals transmitted by transmitter". It consists of an receiving antenna which will collect the electromagnetic signals transmitted in environment.
And it also consists of demodulator which will separate the carrier signal from source signal .

DESTINATION:

                            "Its the element for which the signal was transmitted " .
Its a main root cause for the signal transmission . It may be anything like a speaker , radio, TV , computer, cell phone, etc.
